When Is the Best Time to Buy Game Keys?
Published 7/8/2026
Prices move more than you'd think
Game key prices are not fixed — resellers adjust them frequently based on platform sales, currency shifts, and their own stock. The same key can swing by 10–30% within a few weeks even outside of major sale events. That's the whole reason a price history chart is worth checking (every product page on Looti has one) before you buy.
The predictable low points
- Seasonal storefront sales— Steam's Summer and Winter sales are the two biggest, reliable low points for most titles. Autumn and Spring sales are smaller but still worth checking.
- A year or two after release— keys for a game almost always get cheaper as it ages, short of a sequel or remaster reviving demand.
- Reseller flash deals— independent of platform sales, key resellers run their own short discount windows, which is why the "biggest price drops" section on Looti's homepage is worth a periodic glance.
Don't want to check manually?
Every product page has a "Get a price drop alert" box — enter your email once and we'll notify you the moment any tracked store drops the price, instead of you having to keep coming back to check.
